  • seeking balance

Friday was a Lake Michigan oh so high kinda day

Saturday was a call the trauma unit kinda day

today was a kinda weird kinda day

trying to come to terms with a major house problem, and someone very close to me is going through a very bad situation at work, similar to one i went through 2 1/2 years ago at the same place

    i was touched today

out playing disc golf, yeah i did have a couple awesome shots, but for the most part the disc was magnetized by trees.  sure, it's in the woods, but still, there is more empty space than trees, and even when i throw a tomahawk, it doesn't mean i want to thunk a tree.

so, next to the path we all were on, Jace pointed out some damselflies; two were on a twig next to me, very slowly i put out my finger, right up to the closest one, she flew away, but the second one landed on my hand.  and stayed quite a while.

what is that bout touchin the wild thing

Dragon-damselflies are estimated to have been around for over 180 million years.  Their beautiful jewel-like colors take time to develop, reflecting the idea that with maturity our own true colors come forth.

By their fast flight and aerial maneuvers, they imitate how light itself can be moved and directed.  They inhabit two realms - the water and the air, which indicate expressions of the emotional and mental together.

They spend two years as nymphs in territory near water - two year cycles.  summer is their time - light, sun, water, adaptability.  They eat mosquitoes, the frog is their worst enemy.

Their colors are caused almost the same way rainbows form.  Structures in their shell scatter and refract the light, making them look iridescent green and blue.  Illusion; the power of light and all that has ever been associated with it.

Some Native American stories speak of the time they used to be real dragons.

"Let there be light" is the divine prompting to use the creative imagination as a force within your life.  Life is never quite the way it appears, but it is always filled with light and color.

See thru the illusion, shine on!
